Abortion: Who will speak up for the little ones? Part 3

In the third and finally of this three-part series “Abortion: Who will speak up for the little ones?” We will show the stance that the Bible takes in defense of the unborn child, comment on the recently passed Reproductive Health Act in New York State, share brief excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, and finally discuss our responsibility as the Church to stand in the gap and make a difference – not quietly ignoring the many sensitive issues that confront our faith. We are called to take the lead in boldly defending moral principles in the public arena in order to extinguish the destructive flames of the many social constructs that are destroying our faith, family and freedoms. We must end this brutal atrocity against our innocent children in the womb. 

“But Jesus said, Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14 NKJV

“It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and her were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.” Luke 17:2 NKJV

So, what is God’s position on the unborn child? It is apparent through many scriptures that God is very protective of and loves the little children.  Although God rarely violates our freewill, He does allow each of us to decide whether or not we will accept or reject the political correctness of our day.  Based on our silence as the body of Christ in so many areas, it has ultimately contributed to the dire consequences affecting the family today.  How should a Christian approach such sensitive issues?  What can you do to speak up for these precious little children?

From the biblical position, God has set forth specific commands and guidelines in regards to the protection of human life. This has been consistently held throughout the history of Judeo-Christian societies. God strongly defends the sacredness of the unborn child in the womb as noted in about a dozen biblical passages. We will quote only five of the several passages listed below.  In Genesis 1:27-28; 9:1; 25:21-23; Exodus 21:22-25; Job 31:15; Psalm 127:3-5; 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:4-5; Luke 1:41-44.  

If men fight, and hurt a woman with child, so that she gives birth prematurely, yet no harm follows, he shall surely be punished accordingly as the woman’s husband imposes on him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. But if any harm follows, then you shall give life for life… Exodus 21:22-23 NKJV.

Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb? Job 31:15 NKJV

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward. Psalm 127:3 NKJV

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV

And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary that the babe leaped in her womb; …For indeed, as soon as the voice of your greeting sounded in my ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.  Luke 1:41, 44 NKJV

In the few scriptures you have just read, God identifies the unborn child in the womb as a developing, living, growing part of the human race and He has commanded legal protection of the child with the same rights as all other human beings. It is apparently clear in the passage that, “If two men are fighting and a pregnant woman is accidentally struck, causes her to give premature birth, yet no harm comes to the unborn child the father can take the parties involved to court and a fine is charged.  However, if the unborn child is harmed the judgment is ‘life for life.’”

Notice how in Exodus 21:22-23, God gives specific instructions about both accidental or intentional harm to an unborn child?  Those responsible for causing harm to an unborn child in the womb is met with a fine or more severe consequences – the death penalty. Since, it is God who designed and created us in the Image of God Imago Dei, it is He who determines ‘when life begins and what the meaning and purpose of life is.’  The children of Israel were encouraged to justly defend all human life and faithfully govern their lives according to His precepts. So, it applies today, whether one believes in God or not, is irrelevant. An unborn child must be guaranteed all the legal rights of every human being.  Therefore, we should obediently observe God’s mandate – especially concerning the innocent unborn child in the womb. Their silent voices cry out to us all “please save us, because we can’t save ourselves.” Life is sacred to God, and it behooves us as a nation to pay attention to His truth. 

As you will see the early Christians deemed it a necessary duty, despite secular law, to protect and save children from abortion.  In the first-century Christian text called the Didache it is stated, “do not murder a child by abortion or kill a new-born infant.” The third-century theologian, Tertullian, remarked ‘that abortion should be conducted only in situations in which irregular positioning of the fetus in the womb would risk the life of the pregnant woman.’ So,already in the first-century, contrary to any Greek or Roman law, the Christian community was opposed to abortion and have always defended the rights of the unborn child in the womb.  There is often a strong difference in the moral positions held by that of the Christian church and that of secular societies.  ‘The road to hell is often paved with good intentions.’ Demonstrating my point, consider the recent passing of Senate Bill S240 “Reproductive Health Act” signed by Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York State, on January 2019, who claims to be Roman Catholic, yet as a religious man and politician gave his unabated approval allowing a healthy, fully developed baby in the womb to be legally murdered, even up to the last few moments of birth, solely based on the decision of the mother and her physician – can only be seen as unconscionable.

I use to wonder, with shock and surprise, when reading or watching historical documentaries about atrocities afflicted on humans by other human beings.  After serious contemplation, I came to the realization that throughout history human behavior, can easily be manipulated to approve horrendous atrocities through Laws, Social constructs and Traditions, encouraging people to accept views they would generally abhor – the Inquisitions, American Slavery, Communism, Socialism, Nazi Germany, Abortion or Homosexuality, to name a few. These acts are often seductively promoted as a benefit to the general population based on subjective jurisprudence (rather than objective truth and morality). Thomas Jefferson wisely stated, “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the Gift of God?”  Of course, this quote does not support the politically correct view of our current times.  The right to kill an unborn child in the womb is both immoral and unethical.  New York State is unashamedly leading the charge with their recent approval of the late-term abortion, (homicide – in the third trimester, 6 through 9 months of pregnancy). This is the deliberate killing of an innocent unborn child.  This should give us serious pause and reflection as to what humans are capable of doing when the checks and balances of government are no longer held in place by absolute truth. 

Politicians will inevitably begin passing oppressive unjust laws (based on legality, rather than morality).  This is what we are seeing take place, ever so aggressively, in our nation today.  To deny that an unborn child is a distinct person – producing a unique, separate and beautiful baby goes beyond the scope of any honest medical practitioner.  The unborn child must and should be protected under the law – if the government doesn’t do it, we must.  Under the guise, of what is falsely called a woman’s reproductive right, politicians andabortion advocates willfully deny the right of a human child to be born based solely on the decision of the mother.  That any artificially intelligent politician or abortion advocate, in an age of scientific enlightenment, can flippantly justify the legal killing of an unborn child – by abortion, or a late term abortion, despite the benefits of medical technologies such as the use of an ultrasound or sonogram – is sickening and mind boggling to say the least.  Only those who blatantly disregard truth about life and all disciplines of the medical profession can come to such a conclusion.  This can be recognized by the recent Reproductive Health Act laws passed by abortion advocates.  With our current scientific advancements this issue, abortion, should no longer be considered an appropriate discussion for consideration, because homicide has always been considered the willful and wrongful taking of life, which should especially apply to an innocent unborn child (human being).  King Solomon was correct when he said in Ecclesiastes 1:9, “…There is nothing new under the Sun…” (referring to human behavior). 

The four stages of deception that are destroying our families and country today are: 1) Denial of absolute truth 2) Use of Fear and Intimidation 3) Having the Media, Politicians, Judges, Law Enforcement, Educators, Scientist, Business and Religious leaders to promote the propaganda (lies) and finally, 4) Minimize or Totally eliminate the peaceful voices of opposition (denying everyone else’s rights by legally justifying torture, or even murder, of those that disagree).

As stated clearly in the Declaration of Independence, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”  We have never suggested that the Founding Fathers of this great nation were perfect men, because there is only one perfect man, that is Christ Jesus. However, the Founding Fathers would have also understood the protective rights of “life, liberty and happiness’ to include the innocent unborn child in the womb. The meaning of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness in the Declaration of Independence could never have meant ‘Pro-Choice or the Reproductive Health Act’ for the lawful or willful murdering of an innocent unborn child by its mother, because unalienable rights have been given to all men by their Creator, Almighty God, and man has no right to abort. 

The Founding Fathers also acknowledged in the Declaration of Independence that, “…governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness…appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by the authority of good people of these colonies [United States]…with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.”

You may not be aware, or you may even take this lightly, that we are at a crossroads. There has been an ever-increasing push for socialism by a small group of people in this country and around the world.  If you are still asleep you better wake up before it’s too late!  We have one of two choices; you can no longer stand on the middle ground.  Either through the guise of Freedom, Equality and Liberty, based on similar atheistic constructs of the 1789 French Revolution we can quietly allow, tyranny to continue to reign or based on the fundamental moral Judeo-Christian principles, we can defend the just freedoms and rights that formed this nation as occurred during the 1776 American Revolution.  

Currently, we are losing the battle, because the Church in America is willfully ignoring their responsibility.  It’s time for YOU to RISE UP and step up to the plate.  As President John Q. Adams so aptly stated, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”  We need all Christian soldiers to report for duty.  That’s why they escaped religious persecution in Europe because they were denied the freedom to worship their God based on their own conscience. Based on the first amendment of the Constitution, we were never meant to be a theocracy, nor have been. The Founding Fathers never promoted a national religion, which is evident in the last two-hundred and forty years of this nation’s history.  However, they did promote biblical moral values and godly principles as a guide for this nation.  This nation was founded on the Judeo-Christian principles – The question is, DO YOU WANT YOUR COUNTRY BACK? OBEY GOD!!!  And yet, our United States government, over the last seventy-years, has become very destructive in many ways by removing God from the public square and promoting a socially progressive agenda – ignoring our voices ‘we the people’ or ‘the consent of the governed.’  So, we must take a bold stand and stop this Machiavellian agenda sweeping across the land – beginning with that insidious virus called, Abortion, that continues to grow like a cancer in the American culture destroying families and human life.  If unchecked it will continue to chisel away at the freedoms that this nation has long secured through its blood, sweat and tears. Then, of course, true freedom as we have come to know it (based on mercy, justice and faithfulness) will be lost forever. 

These actions, known as socialism, have been long held and referred to by the Democrat Party as “the New Normal” and unless the Christian community begins to Rise Up as it is called to do “and we be willing to lay down our lives for our children” by standing in the gap, we will be allowing this slippery slope of destructive reign of terror (based on legality) to continue.  It will eventually extend to the eradication of all ages and people groups that peacefully voice their first amendment rights in opposition to these unjust laws.  How can we forget the atrocities of eugenics, infanticide and euthanasia that were legally and scientifically approved of and performed on many innocent citizens in Nazi Germany and other countries? 

Some make take offense to my political comments, but it goes to show that both the Democrat Party and the (Republicans In Name Only) RINO Republican Party agenda has always been driven by self-interest, financial gain and extreme social-liberalism.  I do not think I am taking license by stating here that the health (medically and scientifically) of the mother has never been the real issue behind the abortion industry – it has been about murdering and harvesting innocent unborn baby body parts for the sake of the almighty dollar.  Abortion clinics need unborn human body parts, fetal tissue, in order to sale to any potential clients or organizations for medical and research advancement.  It has been proven time and time again, throughout history, that unconscionable legal rulings that are not based on sound, objective reasoning (guided by true moral principles) soon becomes an instrument of oppression to all who oppose such laws.  

            It often takes a series of individual non-related events occurring over a period of time before they culminate into a watershed, creating a paradigm shift, for example, Charles Darwin, Margaret Sanger and Adolf Hitler.  As Os Guinness profoundly stated on the effect of ideas, “There was all the difference in the world between 1776 and the American Revolution, whose understanding was essentially biblical and classical, and 1789 and the French, Russian, and Chinese revolutions, whose understanding was essentially secular and anti-religious.  The former believed in the incremental change and worked from inside out, taking seriously the potential for sin and the abuse of power, and achieved a substantial, if incomplete, measure of freedom.  The latter, in contrast, believed in instant, total, political transformation, working from the outside in and from the state down, and believing in the adequacy of reason and the essential perfectibility of humanity, but routinely ended in the mass slaughter of millions of people.”  2018, Last Call for Liberty How America’s genius for freedom has become its greatest threat, pp240-241.

This responsibility must definitely be places at the foot of the Church.  The question that we must ask ourselves, the Body of Christ, will Protestants and Catholics continue to sit quietly by and allow the Zeit Geist of political correctness to extinguish the flickering lights of Truth and Life with its strong winds of oppression and fear? Or will we lay our lives down to defend our families, our freedoms and our little ones?  If we refuse, as is often historically demonstrated, until God’s children are willing to demonstrate compassionately, yet without fear, a vigorous opposition against this genocide – by allowing ourselves to be beaten, to be arrested, to go to jail and to lose our livelihood, these atrocities will continue – yes, even in America. It is my hope that the church will not coward, as usual, and take a strong stance publicly.

We cannot escape. Apathy will not deliver us. As it occurred in Nazi Germany, so it will happen to us in America, and they will eventually come after you.  Our silence, or modus operandi, on this and other sensitive issues makes us complicit in this present holocaust.  The Church has been lulled into a perpetual slumber (up to 95-98 percent) continue to live lives manifested by weakness, fear, desperation and naiveté “having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof” as if this scripture speaks of American Christianity.  Two of the greatest deception that have been foisted on the Church, although not inherently evil, are namely; Prayer which has proven ineffectual over the last seventy-years in America (Christians encourage safe, private, collective prayer, while refusing to take any public action) and secondly Voting (Christians wrongfully place their trust in political leaders voting once every two years, in hopes that it will Make America Great Again, although we will never admit it).  This will continue to be the state of the Christian church in America, unless we repent and with genuine reverence and in obedience turn our hearts back to the True and Living God (not sitting safely in small and/or large church building, singing and talking about the power of God, while at the same time being publicly afraid to stand against all the giants in the land).

We, the Christian Church, must decide whether we will be “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world” or will we continue to be “the salt that loses its flavor…thrown out and trampled underfoot of men” which we frequently “light a lamp and put it under a basket.”  I prefer the former two – tasteful and brilliant, rather than the latter two – useless and fearful.  Why? Because, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” I Timothy 1:7 NKJV
